Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a deposit or cleaning fee?
Yes, there is a required deposit of $200. If the home is left reasonably clean, this will be refunded. You can also choose to roll this fee over to their next booking to avoid having to pay the deposit again. The cleaning fees are included in the cost of the rental.
Are taxes included?
Yes, the State of Utah requires a lodging tax and we have included this in your cost.
How many people can stay in the house?

The house is designed for 8 people, with a maximum of 10. If your group has more than 8, prior arrangements must be made and there is an additional cost of $75.00/night/person. There are only 8 workstations, but we have an additional table to use if you need it.

Is there a minimum length of stay?
Yes. Due to the high cost of cleaning, we have a three-night minimum stay.
Can we stay more than three nights?
Yes! Based on availability. Four to six-night stays are perfect!
When is check in?
Check in is at 1:00 p.m. on the day you are scheduled to arrive, unless prior arrangements have been made. We love to accommodate your needs, so please ask if you’d like an earlier check-in and we’ll try to make it happen.
When is check out?
Check out is typically at 1:00 p.m. on the day you are scheduled to depart, unless prior arrangements have been made.
How many bedrooms?
There are six bedrooms with a total of eight beds. Plus, we have a comfortable rollaway in the Cabin room.
Are there private rooms available?
Yes! Four of the bedrooms have queen-sized beds, meant for one person each. One bedroom has two double beds and one has two twin beds.  If there are more than eight people, then sharing a bed will become necessary.
Are bedding and towels included?
Yes. All bedding is provided. Everyone will be issued their own bath towel, hand towel, and washcloth.  Each shower has body wash provided, but you will need to bring your own shampoo and other toiletries.
Is there a kitchen available?
Yes. There is a full kitchen with most of the dishware and appliances you would need to cook your own food.  Basic spices and cooking essentials are provided, but not food.
Can we cook our own meals?
Absolutely. Just bring your own food. Everything else is available for your use.
Is there a resident in the home?
No one is living in the home. The entire house is available for your group to use. The owners live five minutes away if you require assistance or have questions.
What should we do in case of emergency?
Call 911 for serious issues. Call Amy and Brian for minor things. Read the emergency section in our welcome book upon arrival for basic information and phone numbers.
What sewing supplies are provided?
Since traveling with long rulers and large cutting mats is difficult, we provide those. We also provide the cutting tables, ironing boards, and irons. However, please bring your own pressing pad and traveling iron for convenience and protection at your workstation. The retreat has 8 large sewing desks with a pull-out extension for ironing or cutting at your station.  Please bring your own small mat if you plan on cutting fabric at your station.
Are there classes available?
We do not provide them. Call us for some options.
What is the cost per night?

The cost for the entire group of eight people is $600/night. If your group has eight people, that would break down to $75.00/night/person. If your group has fewer than eight people, the cost is still $600/night. If your group has more than eight, $75.00/night/per additional person will be added. Taxes and cleaning fees are included.

Are there any additional expenses?
Not unless there is damage to the home or belongings.  (However, we are not responsible for what you might spend at fabric shops…)
Do we have to clean the house when we leave?
We will have check out instructions at the house, but minimal cleaning is expected. We do ask that you strip the sheets, wipe up spills in kitchen appliances, and start the dishwasher with the last of the dirty dishes before you leave.
How far in advance can we book?
Years ahead, if desired. There is no limit on how close to your desired dates you book, if there is availability. Call Amy if you get a spontaneous idea.
Can we add our group to the perpetual calendar?
Yes. We highly recommend that. The perpetual calendar guarantees your group will have the same week every year.
How many bathrooms are there?
There are three full bathrooms and one half-bath.  One bathroom has a large bathtub and a walk-in shower. The other two bathrooms have tub/shower combinations.
Is the house handicap accessible?
Unfortunately, the house is not handicap accessible. The workroom and three of the bedrooms are located in the basement of the house. Stairs are required to access the basement.
Is extra parking available? How many cars can park on the property?
Yes. There is parking for several cars. The driveway, the back patio, garage and extra space across the street will accommodate your needs.  The best place to unload your cars is on the street in the front of the house through the front door. The stairway to the workroom is right inside the door. Then, move your car to the driveway to keep off the street.
Can meals be catered or provided for us?
Not at this time. Let us know if this is a feature you would be interested in. For now, most restaurants in the area will do pickup, delivery or you can use meal delivery services such as Doordash, etc. Also, many groups choose to take a little time off from sewing and enjoy eating out at a local restaurant. We have many suggestions at the house.
Do we bring our own sewing machines and supplies?
We recommend that you bring your own machine to avoid frustrations, but if that is not a possibility, we have a few available to rent. Please arrange in advance. Bring your own project with all needed supplies, including your rotoray cutter, or go shopping!
Is this retreat sponsored by a shop or company?
No. This is a privately owned retreat that is not associated with any quilt shop or store. However, Corn Wagon Quilt Co. offers a special to my guests. I have 20% off 1 regular priced item coupons at the house for you to take shopping there.
Are there fabric shops nearby?
Yes! Cornwagon Quilts in Springville is excellent and quite close to the house. Spanish Fork has a Hobby Lobby and JoAnns as well. There are also other nice shops within a 30-minute drive in Provo, Orem, and American Fork.
Can groups other than quilters use this retreat house?
Absolutely! We welcome any group who would like to stay. And we have great wifi!  Crafters, painters, scrapbookers (digital or other), Family History retreats, couples retreats. The sky is the limit!
